An active eight-day route combining the lowland rainforest of Sinharaja with elephant country, Yala, Ella and Galle. It is designed for travellers who want nature to be the main theme of the holiday, with different ecosystems and wildlife experiences rather than a conventional sightseeing circuit.

Start with an easy coastal arrival in Negombo. The first evening is deliberately light so you can rest before the rainforest and safari days that follow.
Travel from Negombo into Sri Lanka’s south-west wet zone and settle near Sinharaja. Keep the afternoon flexible for a short local walk, birding around the lodge or rest before the full forest day.
Explore Sinharaja on foot with a local guide, focusing on endemic birdlife and the forest’s smaller details as well as the large trees. Trail choice and duration can be adjusted to rain, leeches, fitness and wildlife activity.
Move from dense rainforest to the open landscapes of Udawalawe. An afternoon safari provides a completely different wildlife setting, with elephants and water-edge birdlife often the main focus.
Continue toward Tissamaharama and the Yala region. Depending on park timing and your preferred pace, include a safari session or keep the afternoon relaxed around Tissa Lake before the main Yala experience.
Begin with a Yala safari before leaving the dry zone for the central hills. The road to Ella changes the scenery quickly, ending with waterfalls, mountain viewpoints and a cooler evening.
Enjoy one or two Ella highlights in the morning, then drive south to Galle. Finish the active nature circuit with an evening walk through the fort and along the ocean-facing ramparts.
Keep the final morning flexible around your flight, with time for a short Galle or beach stop before the private transfer to the airport. The schedule protects a comfortable check-in margin.
